Lets listen to journalists from Gulf radio narrating on how they are going to ensure there is peace during and after August election.

Presenter: Welcome the topic of today where we are going to discuss the roles of the media on peaceful election. Many atimes when we are approaching election. Roles of journalists are very crucial before, during and after election. This is brought about by political parties wanting to lead the country leading to competative language rising the tention and political violence mostly resulting into conflict. The media therefore is the primary catalyst during this period more so the local or community media houses around. Welcome Joash Oloo .

Joash : Thanks Edna for this chance am Joash Oloo Athee a journalist from Gulf radio. We normally find
It rough during these period of election. What we air before, during and after election has a positive or negative impact on our people. One of the things we should do is to ensure that there is equal opportunity to all aspirants during their compaigns to avoid being bias and because we are also human beings and can take sides. Do not show openly the side you are supporting, our politicians too compain by alligation. We should give the other parties opportunities to defend themselves.

Presenter: Thanks so much Joash for the insights that can help our journalist to ensure there is peaceful election. lets give time to another journalist from Gulf radio to explain more points. Welcome Dan.

Dan: Thank you so much, am Dan Oyoo a news achour from Gulf Radio. Journalists are like refferess, you can not be bias to one team it will be openly known and can risk your life too,you should therefore guide all pilitical parties.
We should filter what we can not air moreso what can course division among ethnic and Religious groups
Not only what we discuss in studio matters but also what we discuss while we are outside because we can be judged agaist what we say. We should also check and varify what we found on our social media accounts before sharing or airing it.

Presenter: What about after election

Dan : Yes, we have our people or the people we support wether they are elected or not, we should not air our feelings and encourage the loosers. during elections we should be carterlyst and after election we become councilors by consolling.

Presenter: Thanks for your time and contribution see you next time.
