My name is Joseph Kobina Bentum, the supervising manager of Enyan Denkyira rural bank. I joined this bank as far as April 2013. Having worked at Barclays for almost 19 years.

I schooled at Techiman Catholic Middle school where I sat for my common entrance in 1975 and was admitted at Accra High school for my O’ levels. I did my A’ Levels at the same school completing in the year 1983. I went to the University of Science and Technology Kumasi and read social science majoring in economics and law.

I did my national service with a mixture of finance and economic planning as district budget officer for Nzema East District Assembly in the Western region. Having completed my national service I joined Body Technic motors as a marketing executive, promoting the sales of Jitter Audi golf and other vehicles.

I joined the Barclays bank of Ghana Limited in September 1991 and went through the ranks and also pursuing other professional studies. Went through various departments like current account, savings, Cashiering ,bills and credit, foreign exchange and international trade till the year 2011, almost 19years and I took advantage of early exist package and left the bank.

I then joined computer share Pan African limited a Firm that was formed by the Eco bank of Ghana in a Computer Sharing Development in South Africa. I worked there for one and half years and then headed to Enyan-Denkyira Rural Bank as the supervising manager and that’s where I’ve been up till now.

For the youth, I will only advise them to make their education their top most priority. Without education I wouldn’t be where I am now, so my only advice to the youth is to take education serious no matter what you want to be, Education is the first.
